Potluck Postponed

The Northern Westchester (and Putnam) Potluck for a Better Tomorrow will not be held Saturday October 19th as originally planned. It will take place instead in the spring, tentatively on March 15th, 2014. Unexpected family events made it impossible for me to devote the kind of time and energy needed to organize the event successfully.

So much of the work I’d done by the time I decided to postpone was not visible to the public, so as far as I know, no one had decided to attend who hasn’t already learned about the change of plans. If there are people out there who were looking forward to it, please accept my apologies. And get in touch with me, I’d love to know how you found out about it and what your expectations were.

I believe more than ever that this kind of coalition building will become an increasingly important part of how we’ll meet the challenges of our immediate future. I have a lot of ideas about what to do. I’ll be sharing my ideas in the coming months. Postponing the event gives me a chance to find people who want to help, and doing the planning and advance work that will be needed to make this the kind of extraordinary and useful event I know it can be. I’m organizing a Meetup group which will provide a nucleus of people interested in working for a better tomorrow.

My thanks to everyone who helped me up to this point. I’m hoping many of you will continue to journey with me as I create something new for you, for Northern Westchester (and Putnam) and for myself.
